The seat height of the B is only 750 millimeters off the ground. For someone like me, who is 5-foot-11 with a 32-inch inseam, this means that both feet can be planted flat on the ground at stoplights, with plenty of knee bend left. For those who are shorter, down to around 5-foot-6 with a 29-inch leg length, the lowest K1600 will still be manageable at low speeds. Harley-Davidsons have always had low seats for their large-displacement cruisers, and now with the B, BMW can match them millimeter for millimeter.
Furthermore, the B’s seat has not sacrificed padding in order to achieve this low seat height. My tester was equipped with the optional “719” quilted seat, and it was quite comfortable. It is wide, mostly flat, and has plenty of dense foam, making it a lovely place to sit for hours on end.
