A revised riding position maximizes control in the new Hypermotard 950. Its wider handlebars, slimmer sides, and new seat make movement during riding smooth and ensure that feet can be planted firmly on the ground with an inner leg curve measurement that is now 53mm shorter. The frontal view of the motorcycle is characterized by a “beak” surmounted by a compact headlight with Daytime Running Light (DRL) to give the Hypermotard 950 excellent visibility in daylight, highlighting its clear “family feeling” with its predecessor models.
The design of the Hypermotard 950 pivots around the twin under-seat tailpipes and minimalist superstructure, keeping mechanics – including light rear Trellis sub-frame – in clear view. The Hypermotard 950 is also 4kg lighter than its previous model with a new frame made up of tubes of varying diameter, new rims, brake discs with aluminum flanges, lightweight Marzocchi forks with aluminum fork bodies/tubes, and meticulous design details.

The electronics package on the Hypermotard includes Bosch Cornering ABS with Slide by Brake function (with setting one), Ducati Traction Control EVO (DTC EVO), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO and Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) Up and Down EVO (as standard on the 950 SP version and available as an accessory on the 950). The tapered aluminum handlebars mount radial pumps with separate front brake and clutch fluid reservoirs, while a hydraulic clutch replaces the previous cable-operated one. The design and interface of the color TFT display take their cue from the panel on the Panigale V4.
